Lin Lin is an Chinese political science student best known for her photography. She is a doctoral student in the School of Government at Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangzhou in the People's Republic of China currently on a one year visit to the University of Pittsburgh.

Early Life


Lin Lin was born in a small town Raoping in Guangdong Province. She was the only child in her family because of the One Child Policy.

 

Career

Lin Lin has earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees from South China Normal University (Political Science and Public Administration, English Language and Literature), and is pursuing a Masters of Arts and PhD degrees in Political Science from Sun Yat-Sen University. She published an article ("The Rural Reform of Taxation and Fee Calls for the Formulation of Supporting Measures") in the January 2005 volume of Lingnan Journal, and she has also published a newspaper article in Guangzhou Daily called "My Vote is Up to Me, Have Fun in the Election" (24 April 2008). She is presently considering options for her dissertation topic, and is scheduled to audit several classes at the University of Pittsburgh in the fall semester of 2008.

 

Personal Life


Lin Lin lives in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Squirrel Hill with her house lady and a 20 year old bird Savgy.

  • Lin Lin is an expert in many things, including origami and photography.

  • Lin Lin is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Chaoshanese, and English, and can say "hello" in Korean, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish.

  • Lin Lin can play some instruments like Erhu, piano, harmonium, but she just plays baby music.

  • Lin Lin loves flowers, but she only lets them grow by themselves. She once tried to grow some vegetables in the front yard, but she watered too much and it turns out nothing came out

  • Lin Lin likes drawing. She got a honorable mention from Children‘s Pictorial when she was four years old. After that, her drawing level didn’t improve a lot and just about kindergarten level.

  • Lin Lin loves to eat and to cook delicious food (that's the main reason why it is hard for her to lose weight)>

  • Lin Lin was the first speaker in the first Guangdong Province Graduate School of Political Science Academic Forum. Her article is "The Logic of State Party Changes from the View of Inner-Party Democracy" (1 December 2007).
